I want to start this newsletter by thanking everyone who participated in one of our fundraising efforts for Gold Star Awareness Month in May. Your generous contributions will go directly to providing scholarships for the spouses and children of our nation’s fallen service members.
We recently concluded our scholarship application period for the 2020-21 academic school year. We are currently in the process of reviewing applications and plan to send responses to those who applied in mid-July.
I am also excited to announce that we recently added two new members to the Folded Flag team — Rob Clapper as Chief Development Officer and Jennifer Ramieh as Chief Administrative Officer. You can read more about their roles below.
During this time of global social distancing and economic uncertainty, our Gold Star family members need our support now more than ever. I am sorry to say that we have come to the decision to cancel our 2020 Salute to Service Gala in New York City this September. We will send more information regarding our 2021 event later this year. In place of the Gala, we are exploring ways we can host virtual events to help increase awareness for our mission and raise funds to support our scholarship recipients.
If you are interested in contributing to Folded Flag’s mission of providing educational scholarships, consider making a donation by visiting our website at FoldedFlag.org. Thanks to our underwriting
sponsors, Black Knight, Inc., Fidelity National Financial, FIS and ServiceLink, 100% of your donation goes directly to these families and is completely tax-refundable to the full extent of the law.
Thank you all for your continuous generosity and support during this uncertain time. I wish you a safe and fun 4th of July weekend.
Thank you,
Kim Frank
THE FOLDED FLAG FOUNDATION WELCOMES ROB CLAPPER AND JENNIFER RAMIEH
Rob Clapper, a fourth generation Army veteran, joined our team in February as Chief Development Officer. In this role, Rob is responsible for developing robust fundraising operations, establishing corporate-philanthropic partnerships, implementing employee/customer giving campaigns and increasing national brand awareness that will bring in new donors for the Foundation.
Rob has extensive non-profit and fundraising experience that spans more than 12 years. He most recently served as Executive Director of Our Military Kids, which helps military children while their parents are deployed or recovering from severe injuries. The newest member on our team is Jennifer Ramieh, who joined The Folded Flag Foundation at the beginning of June as Chief Administrative Officer. In this role, Jennifer is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of organization, as well as overseeing all marketing efforts — including event planning, public relations, scholarship outreach and other administrative duties.

Prior to that, she served as Senior Director of Development and Chief Development Officer for the American Red Cross in Las Vegas. You can read more about Jennifer in her press release.
