Supporting the Families of our Fallen Heroes

About Us

The Folded Flag Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children of the U.S. military and government personnel who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.

More Than a Decade of
Friendship, Honor, and Sacrifice

Our story began in 2014 when West Point classmates united to honor their fallen comrades and all the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our nation. Together, they founded The Folded Flag Foundation.

“Memorial Day is a special day set aside for us to remember and honor those who gave their lives defending our country. The children and spouses of these fallen heroes live with this sacrifice and memory every day,” said Bill Foley, Founder of The Folded Flag Foundation. “From the beginning, the mission of this organization has been to honor the legacy of our nation’s heroes by supporting their families. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors whose donations honor the legacy of these mothers, fathers, husbands and wives who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.”

For more than 10 years, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to honoring the legacy of our nation’s heroes and supporting their families. As we continue this mission, we invite you to stand with us in providing scholarships, financial assistance, and vital support services to the loved ones of fallen service members.

The Incredible Need
of These Families

Since 2001, nearly 10,000 men and women have died while deployed in the combat zone, leaving behind thousands of spouses and children. Limited government funding exists to support surviving families in their critical transition to civilian life.

Emily
Baldeosingh

Emily, a 2025/26 scholarship recipient of The Folded Flag Foundation, will be starting her college journey as a freshman at High Point University. Her father, U.S. Army Sergeant Juan Carlos Baldeosingh, was killed in action in 2009 while deployed to Iraq. Emily has shared how the funding from The Folded Flag Foundation and its donors has impacted her life after her father’s sacrifice. “To me, The Folded Flag Foundation scholarship will allow both my family and I to be relieved and assist with the financial burden that comes with paying to attend university for higher education. I would be honored to receive this scholarship for my future endeavors that will allow me to develop both personally and professionally in an environment that promotes growth and success while also greatly supporting our military men and women.”
